Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the United States (US) can be the leader among guarantors of Ukraine’s security future.

He conveyed this in his video speech.

He spoke about the results of his meetings with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Kiev.

“Discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine continue. I believe that the United States can become a leader among the future countries of Ukraine’s security guarantors. The main goal of all of us is to make Europe and the world safer after the war, to ensure that the security architecture works if there is a new threat,” Zelenskyy said.

Quoted from the Ukrinform page, Monday (4/25/2022), Zelenskyy also said that financial support for Ukraine was also discussed at the meeting.

“When the tyranny of (Russia) has enormous financial resources from oil and gas exports, the issue of financial support for freedom becomes important. I heard a full understanding of this position from my American friends. Not only in the context of helping Ukraine now during the war, but also for post-war reconstruction,” said Zelenskyy

Earlier on February 24, Russia launched a new phase of its war against Ukraine, by carrying out a full-scale attack.

The country, led by President Vladimir Putin, has been massively shelling and bombing cities and villages in Ukraine, using mass terror in temporarily occupied territories.

The Ukrainian military then resisted the attack and contributed to heavy losses for Russia.
