Putin does not regret attacking Ukraine, says bloodshed will continue until the goal is achieved

Russian President Vladimir Putin finally opened up about his decision to invade Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

According to Putin, the decision to attack Ukraine was the right choice.

He also said the bloodshed would continue until Russia’s goals were achieved.

This was conveyed by Putin during a meeting with his ally, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Tuesday (12/4/2022).

Putin also admitted that he did not regret attacking Ukraine despite various sanctions from Western countries.

According to him

“It is clear that we have no choice. It was the right decision. We are back in a dead-end situation for us,” Putin said, quoted from Sky News, Wednesday (13/4/2022).

On the other hand, Ukraine accused Russia of using chemical weapons in the port city of Mariupol after reports of civilians experiencing respiratory problems.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has expressed concern about reports of the use of chemical weapons.

He also stressed that he would monitor the situation more closely.

“The secretariat is concerned by recent unconfirmed reports of the use of chemical weapons in Mariupol, which have been in the media over the past 24 hours,” a watchdog said in a statement.

“This follows reports in the media over the past few weeks of targeted shootings at a chemical plant located in Ukraine, along with allegations leveled by both sides surrounding the possible misuse of toxic chemicals,” he added.

In addition, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Ivanna Klympush demanded a complete blockade of all fuel from Russia after an “unidentified substance” was detected in the city of Mariupol.

“The victim is in respiratory failure. Most likely a chemical weapon!” he said in a tweet on Monday.

“This is a red line that must destroy the despotism economy. We demand a full embargo of all fuel from #RU & 2UA heavy weapons now!
