PPKM Emergency Java-Bali: Supermarkets, Markets, Grocery Stores Open Until 20.00

The government implements the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali from 3–20 July 2021.

There are a number of activities and sectors that are restricted as long as the policy is in effect, including activities in supermarkets, traditional markets, and supermarkets.

“Supermarkets, traditional markets, grocery stores, and supermarkets that sell daily necessities are limited to operating hours until 20:00 local time with a maximum visitor capacity of 50 percent,” said the emergency PPKM regulation, quoted from a copy of the document received by Kompas.com from the Ministry. “Pharmacy and drug stores are allowed to open 24 hours,” the regulation continued.

As long as the emergency PPKM is in effect, offices operating in the non-essential sector are required to implement work from home (WFH) or work from home 100 percent.

In the essential sector, a maximum of 50 percent of employees are allowed to work from the office or work from office (WFO).

The essential sectors in question include finance and banking, capital markets, payment systems, information and communication technology, non-COVID-19 quarantine handling hotels, and export-oriented industries.

Meanwhile, in critical sectors, WFO can be carried out 100 percent with strict health protocols. Critical sectors include energy, health, security, logistics and transportation, food, beverage and supporting industries, petrochemicals, cement, national vital objects, disaster management, national strategic projects, construction of basic utilities (such as electricity and water), to fulfillment industries. basic daily needs of the community.

Emergency PPKM was implemented in 48 districts/cities that recorded an assessment score of 4, as well as in 74 districts/cities with an assessment score of 3 in the Java-Bali region.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has been appointed by President Jokowi as Coordinator of the Java-Bali emergency PPKM.

Jokowi also instructed his staff to work together to run the emergency PPKM. He also asked all parties to obey the rules that have been set.

“I ask all Indonesian people to remain calm and vigilant, comply with existing regulations, be disciplined in implementing health protocols, and support the work of government officials and volunteers in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic,” the president said.
