Dragging His Boyfriend’s Body on the Street, This Hong Kong Man Arrested on Alleged Murder

Hong Kong police have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of the murder of his girlfriend.

This is because the perpetrator was seen dragging the wheel board, on which the victim’s body was wrapped in a blanket, along a road in northern Hong Kong on Friday (29/4/2022) morning.

Reported by SCMP, this incident was witnessed by runners who were crossing Tin Ha Street in Tin Shui Wai at around 6am.

Officials were immediately dispatched to the scene after the police received the report.

A police spokesman said the man was intercepted by police.

The woman was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

“The deceased’s head was wrapped in cling film and his hands were tied with nylon ropes,” he said.

Officers then arrested the 25-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

He is being held for questioning and has not been charged.

A source said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect and victim were lovers and former colleagues.

At around 9am, the police closed the crime scene and set up a blue tent during the examination of the body.

Last year, police handled 23 homicide reports across the city.

In 2020 there were 22 cases.

Another Murder Case

A similar case in Hong Kong occurred in mid-April.

Police have arrested a man for the murder of his girlfriend, after a naked victim was found at a private campsite belonging to the suspect in a village in the New Territories.

Chief Superintendent See Kwong-hung of the Sha Tin district crime squad said initial investigations suggested the 52-year-old man may have been under the influence of drugs and then assaulted his girlfriend during a fight.

See said marijuana and methamphetamine were found at the scene along with the suction device.

According to a SCMP report on April 14, 2022, the perpetrator and his 38-year-old girlfriend lived in a house at the location rented by the suspect named Plumcamp, near Mui Tsz Lam Street in Ma On Shan.

A police source said the suspect’s campsite business was hit by the fifth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
